1. About the service

golfpools.ie is a golf pool management platform operated by golfpools.ie, a company registered in Ireland. The platform allows users to create, manage, and participate in golf tournament pools.

By using golfpools.ie, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Entertainment purposes only — this is not gambling

Any entry fees collected for a pool are platform administration fees charged by golfpools.ie for the use of the software. They are not prize money, wagers, or bets. golfpools.ie does not hold, distribute, or guarantee any prize funds.

Pool organisers (admins) who collect entry fees from participants do so independently and are solely responsible for the fair and lawful management of any funds collected outside of golfpools.ie.

If you are running a pool involving real money prizes, it is your responsibility to ensure compliance with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction, including those relating to gambling, competitions, and prize promotions.

3. Pool administrator responsibilities

As a pool administrator, you agree to:

• Provide accurate pool information (name, tournament, format)
• Only share pool links with consenting participants
• Be responsible for any real-money arrangements made with your participants outside of this platform
• Not use the platform to run commercial gambling operations
• Keep your admin email up to date so we can contact you about your pool

4. Payments and refunds

Paid plans (Pool Pass, Season Pass) are charged in Euro (EUR) and include applicable Irish VAT. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.

Refund policy: You may request a full refund within 48 hours of purchase, provided the tournament has not yet started. Once a tournament has commenced, no refunds will be issued as the service has been provided.

To request a refund, email admin@golfpools.ie with your pool name and payment reference.

5. Acceptable use

You must not use golfpools.ie to:

• Engage in unlawful gambling or prize competitions
• Harass, mislead, or defraud other users
• Attempt to access, modify, or disrupt the platform or its infrastructure
• Create pools on behalf of others without their knowledge or consent
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute tournament data from the platform
• Use automated tools to create pools or submit picks at scale

6. Accuracy of golf data

Live scores and tournament data are sourced from third-party providers (DataGolf). While we strive to display accurate and timely information, we cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this data. golfpools.ie is not liable for any errors in live scoring that affect pool standings.

In the event of a significant data error, pool admins will be notified and scores may be corrected at our discretion.

7. Limitation of liability

golfpools.ie is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by Irish and EU law:

• We are not liable for loss of data, revenue, or profits arising from use of the platform
• We are not liable for disputes between pool administrators and participants regarding prize money
• Our total liability to you in any 12-month period shall not exceed the amount you paid us in that period

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Irish law.

8. Service availability

We aim to keep golfpools.ie available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance, unexpected outages, or third-party failures may cause temporary unavailability. We will endeavour to notify users of planned downtime in advance.

9. Account termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the service for any user who violates these Terms, engages in illegal activity, or acts in a manner harmful to other users or the platform.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the use of golfpools.ie shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

If you are a consumer resident in another EU member state, you may also have access to dispute resolution mechanisms in your country of residence under EU consumer law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the website. Continued use of the service after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance.
